JOURNAL 7- A CHARITY THAT I BELIEVE IN

I think that when it comes to charitable organizations, one organization that I really believe in, and that I would gladly donate a significant amount of money to if I could, would be the ASPCA.

I picked the ASPCA, because animals and especially dogs have always been very close to my heart. My dogs are one of the biggest and most important and special things in my life right after family. In fact I consider them a part of my family.

It pains me and I have never been able to understand how anyone could ever intentionally hurt, cause pain and be cruel to animals. I think that animals are not only a gift from God and from nature, but are also defenseless, and we should take care of them and love them. We should also fight to protect them and to prevent people from harming them and abusing them or being cruel to them.

The ASPCA stands for the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is a non-profit organization that basically stands for and helps promote the message that animals deserve to be treated kindly, ethically and be respected by people. They also believe that animals should not just be treated fairly and kindly by humans but also that animals should be "protected" under the law, to help prevent any misstreatment to them AND to bring to justice and punish those capable of hurting and being cruel to animals.

They are the first humane organization to be granted legal authority to investigate and make arrests for abuse and cruelty against animals. It was founded in 1966 by Henry Bergh and today is one of the most important and biggest organizations in the world in favor of the protection of animals. It has a long and rich history full of many challenges and victories.

I think that we should all take the time to donate or make an effort to help organizations like the ASPCA to help fight cruelty to animals. We should all love, and protect our pets and animals and not contribute to the cruelty that many animals go through every day.
