Alzheimer's Association

The organization that means alot to me is the Alzheimers Association. I had a family member that I was really close too die to the cause of this disease. Some facts about this common disease, it affects 5.3 million people, it's the 7th leading cause of death, costs are around 172 billion dollars annually, and there are 10.9 million unpaid caregivers. I would donate my funds to help researchers find a cure, or something to help the side effects of this horrific disease. The ten most common signs that people really need to watch out for are, 1. Memory Loss that disrupts daily life 2. Challenges in planning or solving problems 3. Difficulty completeing familiar tasks 4. Confusion with either time or place 5.Trouble understanding visual or spacing 6. New problems with writing or speaking 7. Misplacing or losing ability to retrace steps 8. Decreased or poor judgement 9. Withdrawl from work or social activities 10. Changes in mood or personality. These start to become a daily struggle from people that suffer this disease. Imagine how you would feel if one day you felt the best at everything, and had no problems and the very next day you couldn't remember how to drive a car, or to even put clothes on. It would be hard for anyone that lived a great life at one time.
