If I had 20,000 dollars and six months then I would work for the Alzheimers association. I Think that Alzheimer disease constantly increasing with many americans. Currently there are 5 million american with that disease. Alzheimer disease is mainly a loss of memory, where your brain cells get destroyed. This could be dangerous at certain times like when you are alone. The dangerous part of this disease is that it could come up at any time of your life. My dads friend had this disease and he found this out when he was working in his office and he could recollect anyones names. Sometimes he even forgets his names. Now, he has to special device with him to write now everything he needs to do for each day. But there are much more serious cases of Alzheimers in the country, like some people even forget to eat. currently the total cost of this operation is approximately about 33,000 dollars. This treatment is not cheap but the Alzheimers Association is trying to help people that cant afford that cost.
I think this is an important charity. Alzheimer's is so heartbreaking to the family members. Imagine your parent not remembering you. I also believe a cure is possible.
ReplyDeleteI have had a great grandmother die after being diagnosed with the disease. It is tough seeing someone you love go through this. It would be great to someday have a cure for this disease and the countless others out there.
ReplyDeleteThe grandfather of a good friend of mine has this disease and he says its one of the hardest things to see someone go through. To forget important places and people in you life is a hard thing to deal with. Along with cancer, I believe it is a cure that is definately possible.
