If I had 20k to donate on any organization, I wound give to Charity Newsies. Charity Newsies is a local non-profit organization in Columbus Ohio, that helps Franklin County school kids and victims of fire and floods disasters for clothing. This organization provides variety of clothes all kids in franklin County. There two reasons I would contribute my donation to this oranization. First, helping your local community can positively impact your life more than giving away your donation to outside charity orgaizations. When i see everyday influence of my contribution, I would feel little more emotional and I be would proud of what I have done for my local community.
Second, this organization is a 100% charitable. "During the 2007-8 school year, Charity Newsies clothed 14,400 children in grades K-12 who lived in Franklin County" Says the home page of Charity Newsies. That wound make my donation go the right people and spend as it should be.
I like the idea of donating locally and seeing the direct impact of your contribution. If we supported more local charities there would be less need for national public assistance programs.
